“The Twist” – an art installation installed as part of the Bristol Cabot Circus development. Standing some 25m high it is a focal point at the end of the M32 and the gateway to Bristol. The artist’s intention was to provide a wholly sustainable construction method and to question the use of renewable energy.

The tower is topped off with a vertical axial wind turbine and a photovoltaic array both of which power a three tier lighting system. Buildfifty5 operated as management contractor and aided the customer in selection and tender negotiation with trade contractors, management of design team and ultimately managed out the build process creating a successful project for Bristol Alliance.
