This ambitious scheme vastly improves the pedestrian link between the ground and city centre, thanks to a new footbridge across the River Can towards Central Park, complemented by a bustling public piazza. Central to the development are four high-quality residential towers, with one and two-bedroom apartments. As well as residential buildings there is a 250 space multi storey car park, new cricket school facilities and club members’ areas within a new stand.
Delivering 219 homes along with commercial and retail space, Phase One of the build, completed in 2015, was swiftly followed by the £80 million Phase Two scheme, providing a further 386 high-quality residential units as well as in excess of 57,000sq ft of commercial space.
As Project Managers on the scheme, buildfifty5 led the delivery team on both Phase One and Phase Two, working with Essex Cricket Club Development Committee, local Planning Authority and neighbours in order to achieve the best build outcome. Our relationship with several major Contractors enabled us to combine our expertise to evaluate a number of delivery options in order to reach the best solution.
